Adidas x Pharrell Supershell Launch

Last friday, August 7 was the global launch of Pharrell’s new adidas Originals Superstar collection, the 'Supershell', and I was lucky enough to get invited to it!

The new collection is a collaboration with four hand-picked artist from around the world by Pharrell to reinvent the iconic adidas Superstar’s shell toe. The collection has two styles - ‘Artwork’ and ‘Sculpted’ - Featuring the art of NYC contemporary artist Todd James, British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid, American photographer-director Cass Bird,contemporary Japanese artist Mr. and Pharrell himself. The collection has a limited release and exclusive artworks for different regions around the globe. the footwear is offered in black and white colourways, allowing the vibrant artworks to really pop. In addition to the concept, each left and right shoe features a different graphic treatment allowing the collection to be mixed and matched endlessly.

The event took place in adidas BGC. It was pretty much a fun afternoon of creativity.

After the two guest artist had finished talking about their work, Dj Suzi asked us to submit the design we made. Apparently it was a contest. haha. WE HAD NO IDEA. Eggfiasco and Chichimoster were the one who picked the top 3 designes. The best design will get a free pair of supershell of their choice!

The third place went to a guy. And the 2nd and 1st place went to me! never really expected that. haha.

All I can say is that I had a fun time during the event and Pharrell's ne collection is really amazing and worth buying! It's like a wearable art piece! haha. I personally like the 'Sculpted' series just because I find it more unique and more my style since it looks minimal.

ohh yeah. I almost forgot! the designed I picked for my prize was the black sculpted supershell by Pharrell himself.
